Interesting thoughts about passive agression. I think this is common among JW's. Not only because of all the gossiping..., but "peaceful" people looking forwars to see a mass slaughter of billions in the big A.

Just don't go. They don't have any power over you.

I Didn't See That Coming
by Wholly ini was raised on air force bases in the us and asia until i was 10 or 11. my mother divorced my father while he was on an unaccompanied tour in turkey and hooked up with my uncle.
she married him and his children became our step-brothers and sisters.
i saw my father once when he got back to the states and not again until almost 30 years later.. after two years, my uncle put his children in an orphanage and my mother dispersed her children to the four winds so she could be free to be with my uncle without all the problems eight children who hated each other brought.. my story begins in 1977 in an old farm house in corinth, kentucky, without running water or heat, just electricity for lights and cooking.

A sad and tragic story! Some people can act really evil.
I hope your daughter is all right now and that she has a good life.
You have to take care.....and use your brain. Your brain is more trustworthy than the organisation.
It is a bit strange that "Big Daddy in Sky" can't find better PR-peoble than those religious organisations.

"Do the truth"
by stillin ini presented myself to the do recently at a circuit assembly.
i told him that i've been inactive for a year now but that i'm still praying for an answer to a problem.
jehovah has not answered my prayers and i can't find any reason to tell my neighbors about him.

"Do the truth" = "Just fake it till you make it"....and don't use your brain.
Hey. Outlaw..I think the lady to the right in the picture is "sister Anderson" from my old congregation. Nice to see her having a good time.

I just had a thought that made me feel so much better about this fade...
by sosoconfused inthis is not monumental... i am sure all of you think it all the time.. but as a 3rd gen born-in ex-elder ex-pioneer ex-bethelite i spent so much time in this relion believing that for some reason that god, who loves all humans and created all things only wanted a few people to get knowledge of him - and this small group in america was his choice.. .
now as i said i am sure 99% of you probably came to that realization before and it is common sense, but the very fact that as a grown man i never really thought about this for more than 15 seconds.
the whole idea is just ridiculous and freaking stupid.

"One thing i must admit is beginning to settle with me though is that people who are not part of this group are so more genuine then JW's."
I believe this is a very important observation. My simple conclusion is that JW can't be genuine...they have to play "the publisher role" to get accepted in the JW community. Maybe not only play a role, but also depersonalize themselves. I think Steven Hassan says a lot on this subjekt when he talks about the "genuine personality", or was it "genuine self"?
A cult member has a "cult self", that manifests itself in different ways, but most cult members have a genuine self that sometimes can be reached.
And yes...I asked myself the same question many years ago. Why the heck would an almighty god use a group of old med i Brooklyn for communication with humankind? And why would he demand of people being members of an american cult selling magazines from door to door. An omnipotent god must have better ways reaching people.

I think you are right in that way, Cath. Most JW's should hide their beliefs for the housholder when getting such question. Maybe they would come with a little white lie..for not appearing so rude. Most JW knows that they cannot be that honest and outspoken at doors.
But, nevertheless...when it deals about beliefs/dogma, the "brother" in the dialogue represents watchtower doctrine. The humour in it is that he is to honest in his responses, and thereby makes a foll of himself.

You know, Cath..this site started as a discussion-board for active JW's. But being able to talk about doctrine anonumous and to pose dificult question made a lot of people rethink the doctrine/organisation.
Yue are free to pose any questions here, and I think it would be a good idea doing that before a baptism. You know what the consequences might be if you discover some facts after your baptsm.
I hope you will find a room to rent i London. I think there are some Londoners here. I also hope that you can find a good job in London.

No, I found it in another thread. I am no good at all in editing videos! But I think it's another poster at this forum who made this "special edition"!
